It was Valentine's Day. I was waiting for my train, a little under the weather. I was expecting the train ride to be normal, but then I just heard this voice start saying Thank you for riding MARTA, and I hope y'all have a fantastic day, and he started to sing. It was the train operator! He did this at every stop. When I finally got to the station I needed to be at, I walked towards the front of the train and said Hey, I appreciate you man, I needed to hear that. He said, "Thank you man, and have yourself a fantastic day!" The train left the station, and I was just standing there with a smile on my face. Not even realizing this person single-handedly made my day better. Even months later, I still think about that interaction and that train operator. He doesn't even realize what a role model he has been to me.
