“Is this seat taken?” I say as I walk onto the crowded train. All the seat were filled and coming from work I really need to sit down. “No, you can have it.” The man smiled. “Thank you so much. It’s been a long day.” He nodded and looked out the window. Something about him felt familiar. I stared at his features and tried to remember. He had this glow to him, and a comforting smile. “Have we met before? I feel like I know you from somewhere.” I say trying to rack my brain on where we have met. “We have talked before but you probably don’t remember. It was a long time ago.” He laughed. “No wonder you feel familiar. I’m sorry I forgot. It’s good to see you again.” I smiled. The train ride kept going as we passed by all the stops. Living down in college park makes for a long ride when you work at Arts Center. “Which is your stop?” I asked. He only smiled. I looked around the bus and everyone was staring at me. “I wonder why everyone is staring at us?” I laughed looking back as the man next to me. “Because you see me.” I chuckled and nudged him. “Well yeah you’re right here. I don’t think ghosts are real.” I laughed. “No, Snow. I know you don’t. But you do believe in spirits.” I stopped smiling and looked in shock. I never said my name. “How do yo-“ he stopped me and touched my hand. “Because I know everything about you, my child. We have much more to talk about when you get home.” A tear rolled down my face as I realized who was next to me. I smiled as more tears came and he smiled back. With that he was gone. I looked around and everyone was now watching me cry to myself. “Next stop College Park station” I got up from my seat and walk to the cars where my mom was waiting. “How was work, Snow?” “I looked at her with tearful eyes. “What happened?” “Mom.” I said. “I met the most wonderful person. We have a lot of catching up to do when I get home.” I leaned on the car door and looked up. Then I saw him it was God staring down on me with a smile on his face. ‘It has been a long time since we talked hasn’t it lord.’ I thought to myself as I redownloaded my Bible and continued our conversation.
